Annual Short Summer Courses on Hydrology

Courses will be held during the summer months in Germany, usually end of July till begin of September. The location of the summer school will be on the campus of the Ruhr-University Bochum
The fee for each course in the 2008 course will be 300.00 EUR. Accommodation in student hotels and meals in the student cafeteria at reasonable prices will be available.
Scholarships funded by the IHP of UNESCO and the German IHP/HWRP Committee will be awarded to foreign students. The scholarships will be posted internationally and awarded in three categories.
The International German Summer School of Hydrology (IGSH) offers a communication platform for hydrological knowledge in the form of summer school courses. A program of activities covering as many aspects of hydrology as possible is in the process of being prepared for several years ahead. Focus will be placed on practice-relevant topics for an international audience. In addition, workshops presenting the perspectives of hydrological research will be organized.
The program offers one- and two-week courses with 30 lessons per week, held during the summer (August - September) each year. On the time and material basis the course participants will be awarded three or four credit points (CP) according to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). Thus, recognition of the courses at European universities is possible, which in turn will permit the transfer of academic credits to non-European countries.
All courses will be given in English. Therefore fluency in speaking and writing English is necessary for all students
